We offer Archet violins, violas, and cellos Rosins made in Japan. The rosins are formulated with purified and traditional French techniques to deliver clean, stable and a warm tone. More information on the Archet website.
Archet makes five rosins, each in its own colour. The navy blue Tenor and the wine red Alto are the two we usually carry; ask us about the others.
Tenor, navy blue: a firm grip, a deep tone and a powerful sound. Made for the cello and also popular with solo violinists.
Alto, wine red: a warm tone with a solid core and a moderate grip. Less dust than the Soprano, and it lasts longer. Used by many professionals.
Soprano, beige: the lightest grip, a smooth feel and a clear, brilliant tone.
Étude, red felt pack: the student rosin, with a balanced tone and a moderate grip, in a felt pack made for children to use.
Basse, black: for the double bass only, with the strongest grip.
Leatherwood Bespoke Rosin is an Australian rosin maker. More information on the Leatherwood website.
Leatherwood Bespoke Rosin: blends that let a player shape the warmth, clarity and attack of their sound, from Supple (a warmer, softer sound) to Crisp (a decisive attack and firm grip), or a mix of the two. For violin, viola and cello, in a case of Australian timber with a leather wrap.
Leatherwood ecoRosin: a plant-based, vegan rosin made in Australia, with a clean, precise bite and an open, resonant sound. For violin, viola and cello, in a recycled container.
